Description

The responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain financial records for multiple entities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure all reporting and returns are completed accurately and on time.
  • Manage accounts payable by ensuring supplier payments are reconciled, tracked, and paid on time.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, including invoicing, producing statements for clients and business partners, and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with management and other team members to improve financial processes.

Skills

The skills of the Assistant Accountant include but are not limited to:

  • Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and have sat and passed exams.
  • Previous experience preparing detailed financial reports.
  • Previous experience managing AP/AR and preparing financial statements.
  • Good knowledge of Xero and advanced Excel.
  • Attention to detail and strong numerical literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in travel or a high growth start up is a distinct advantage.
