Our client, a global consumer business, is looking for an Interim Director of FP&A to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will report to the CFO, work very closely with the Group finance teams as well as the brands and support on all aspects of commercial finance. A keen interest in improving systems, processes and management information is essential.
Description
The responsibilities of the Interim Director of FP&A include but are not limited to:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and quarterly reforecasting cycles across all business units.
- Partner with executive leadership to provide data-driven insights that influence strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, highlighting key trends, variances, and actionable recommendations.
- Develop and track financial KPIs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Oversee treasury operations, ensuring effective liquidity management and optimisation of working capital.
- Responsible for cash flow forecasting and risk management, as well as funding strategies.
- Work closely with the financial reporting team to ensure accurate and timely external reporting in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Provide insights and input for investor relations activities as needed.
- Collaborate closely with department heads, regional FP&A teams, and senior stakeholders outside of finance to provide financial guidance and strategic support.
- Work with Finance Leadership (Internal Control, Tax, Transformation, Reporting), to drive support on various projects, including SOX implementation, Transfer Pricing and system implementation.
- Support the implementation of BI solutions, ensuring that data-driven tools and dashboards meet organisational needs.
- Take a leadership role in various ad hoc projects and due diligence.
- Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Act as a key stakeholder in the implementation and optimisation of financial systems.
- Manage and mentor one team member, and also support Brand team members where required.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of team objectives, maintaining strong morale and engagement during the maternity cover period.
Skills
The skills of the Interim Director of FP&A include but are not limited to:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in high growth, dynamic and fast moving businesses.
- Previous experience of implementing or improving processes, systems and management information.
- Able to present to senior stakeholders, support the Brands team and support group finance.
- Previous experience of working with luxury brands a distinct advantage.
