Our client, a private equity backed leisure business, is looking for a talented UK Accountant to join the European team. The successful candidate will have significant experience in preparing financial and management accounts and can speak fluent French or Italian as well as English. An immediate start is required and offers hybrid working (3 days in office).
Description
The responsibilities of the UK Accountant role include but are not limited to:
- Accounting for the UK companies, including interest, expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Payment of UK invoices and management of UK bank accounts.
- Managing payroll, VAT and other tax obligations.
- Liaising with auditors for UK tax compliance.
- Assistance with Group budget process (modelling, support, presentation).
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for the UK entities.
- Maintenance of the UK management services agreement and recharges.
- Liaising with and management of loan requirements.
- Preparation of statutory accounts for the UK entities.
- Liaising with the auditors for the Group accounts and UK entities.
- Assistance with accounting system implementation (design, management, data input, testing).
- Maintenance of statutory books and records.
- Ad hoc projects and assistance as required.
Skills
The skills of the UK Accountant role include but are not limited to:
- Previous relevant accounting experience, including management and statutory accounts.
- Fluent in French (essential).
- Fluent in Italian (preferable).
- Strong Excel and ERP systems.
