Our client is a very successful private equity backed group and a world leader in its field. To call its products, designed and built in-house, as ‘cool’ would be an understatement. The group operates a number of prestigious brands known for their innovative and high-performance products and trusted by their customers around the world.

It has grown from £100m revenues to £350m in the last 5 years, with very impressive margins, and is on track to surpass £500m revenues in the next few years, both via organic growth and as the group is expected to remain highly acquisitive (with five businesses acquired in the last investment cycle). The exceptional management team boasts a very strong track record of delivering for customers, investors and their employees.

Description

Based at the company headquarters in Surrey, you will report to the Group Financial Controller and work closely with the finance teams of each company in the group on a wide variety of finance projects.  As such, we are looking for someone who has managed a small finance function, with full responsibility for the P&L and Balance Sheet, and can show strong technical capabilities. In addition, due to the breadth of the role, the right candidate will also take responsibility for continual improvement of financial and business controls, business planning and strategy, including cash-flow, budgets, forecasting and performance analysis, and enhancing the quality of management information and reporting.  The group has been rolling out an ERP system in a measured way over a multiyear period and is looking to develop on it for group reporting and consolidation – experience of such processes would be helpful.

Skills

With a decentralised model, the head office team is lean so the cultural fit is critical. It is a low ego, high performing function and we are looking for a bright and commercially astute qualified Accountant, ideally with experience of working in a multi-site, multi-brand organisation trading across multiple international geographies. You will have strong commercial understanding and the ability to challenge and add insight to the team. There is an ethos of hard work and being ‘hands on’ to meet the demands of a dynamic PE backed business. There will be occasional travel required in order to oversee and closely monitor the financial performance of the various group companies.
