Our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its finance team. Reporting into the Management Accountant, the Accounts Assistant position will encompass a variety of tasks that would suit an organised individual with excellent attention to detail, studying towards their AAT.

Description

Responsibilities for this Accounts Assistant role will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Raising, issuing and processing invoices whilst adhering to client requirements.
  • Performing reconciliation of the bank accounts on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Ensuring that temporary workers submit the correct information for prompt payment.
  • Accurate processing and payment of temporary workers according to signed timesheets submitted.
  • Liaising with consultants over start dates, changes in assignments and any associated issues.
  • Undertaking external reporting to HMRC for intermediaries.
  • Chasing any outstanding invoices from the various internal departments and liaising directly with suppliers.
  • Updating the database with information received and ensuring that data received is filed correctly.
  • Undertaking payment of expenses and authorising expenses.
  • Assisting with accruals, prepayments, fixed asset registers, tax and VAT.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Accounts Assistant role include but are not limited to:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a similar position.
  • Strong Excel skills and computer literacy.
  • Self-motivated, efficient and reliable.
  • The ability to work under strict time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will work closely with both clients and candidates.
