Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join it's finance team. Reporting into the Management Accountant, the Accounts Payable Assistant position will encompass a variety of tasks that would suit an organised individual with excellent attention to detail, studying towards their AAT.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this Accounts Payable Assistant role will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate processing and payment of workers according to signed timesheets submitted.
  • Generate invoices, adhering to client requirements.
  • Produce client reports to accompany invoices as requested.
  • Code purchase invoices to the correct purchase ledger accounts after approval by the relevant department managers.
  • Process all invoices to the purchase ledger and reconcile the purchase ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly payment run of supplier invoices using accounting software.
  • Chase up any outstanding invoices from the various internal departments and liaise directly with suppliers.
  • Raise, issue and process sales invoices for permanent and contract placements.
  • Allocate receipts to the correct client ledger accounts.
  • Update schedules to recognise work in progress and liaise with each sales team to establish start dates to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Post all bank transactions to the cashbook.
  • Reconcile the bank accounts.
  • Month-end reconciliations.
  • Payment of expenses, reviewing valid receipts.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Accounts Payable Assistant role include but are not limited to:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
  • Strong Excel skills and computer literacy.
  • Self-motivated, efficient and reliable.
  • The ability to work under strict time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
