Our client is an international live events group that is looking for a new addition to its Finance team. The successful candidate will be a key player in a small commercial finance and FP&A team, reporting to the Commercial Finance Director.

This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the development of a private equity backed group in the fast paced entertainment sector. The candidate will support the team with the commercial finance and analysis across both the Group and its various operating companies.

As well as day-to-day interactions within the wider finance team, you will also work closely with operating businesses across the region and with the central leadership team, with a broad remit to support the commercial activities of the business.

Description

The duties and responsibilities for this FP&A Associate role include but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with the operating company management teams to deliver high quality, timely & accurate financial budgets and forecasts, ensuring sufficient review and challenge
  • Review final year-end performance and interpret results, identify trends proactively, highlight issues, working in partnership with the operating companies to plan appropriate actions to mitigate risks
  • Prepare reports and track trends & variance against plans
  • Presentation to the leadership about the latest performance and gap vs plans
  • Work closely with operating businesses to build and maintain a medium-term financial/strategic plan
  • Working closely with the operating businesses to ensure progress and delivery of strategic initiatives signed off by the Board
  • Support in rolling out new Group level reporting tools to operating companies
  • Support the operating companies to deliver timely insightful management information and proactively recommend solutions to support effective decision making
  • Support the operating companies in performance monitoring, including the compilation and delivery of weekly and monthly financial and operational dashboards on various KPIs
  • Ensure the monitoring of targets and KPIs to allow the company to make appropriate business decisions
  • Support in assessing commercial revenue deals with third parties and other ancillary revenue opportunities for the operating businesses
  • Support in preparation of weekly and monthly reports, board papers and presentations
  • Support the teams to build and then review and assess the operating business cash flow projections
  • Assist in the financial integration of acquired businesses to ensure a smooth onboarding with the Group’s models and processes

Skills

The successful candidate for this FP&A Associate role will be a qualified accountant with a strong academic background. The role is an ideal first move out of public practice for individuals who have proven experience in Transaction Services with a major accounting firm. Excellent financial and analytical skills and advanced Excel skills are essential, ideally along with prior experience using Power BI. Strong communication skills are required to work in a small team, as well as the credibility to interact regularly with senior management. The ability to speak a second European language is invaluable considering the regional footprint of the business.
