Private Equity
We are a working with a leading Private Equity firm that has a 30 year track record, investing across a variety of sectors. With a loyal investor base and multiple funds under management, they are currently enjoying increased deal activity, with multiple new investments and exits from previous funds underway.
As part of a restructure, they are seeking to hire a strong Fund Controller with strong leadership and interpersonal skills who can be a genuine business partner and in time can step into a senior Head of Funds role.
They are looking for someone proactive, adept at managing stakeholders and can manage and provide direction for two direct reports. This individual will oversee outsourced service providers, allowing to focus on supporting the investment, managing the teams, and senior finance decision-making.
The firm has a track record of producing future CFOs, and accordingly, this is a genuine step toward a senior finance role.
Responsibilities
- Review quarterly and annual fund accounts received from the administrators.
- Review quarterly investor reports, working closely with the investor relations team.
- Working closely with the Portfolio team to produce monthly valuations packs of investee companies and with regards to new investments and realisations.
- Produce portfolio management information for the Portfolio team.
- Maintaining the funds’ IRR models (actual and forecast).
- Creating and updating fund income models ensuring that they agree with the legal agreements.
- Analysing portfolio companies to ensure alignment of income models on a regular basis.
- Responsible for cash flow forecasting and accordingly the supervision of drawdowns and repayments from and to investors by administrators.
- Manage and organise the team, ensuring development of junior members.
Skills
We are looking for an experienced Fund Accountant / Controller who is looking for a truly mid-level role and is looking for a review / team management role and senior exposure to decision-making. You will have 3-6 years operating in a fund finance capacity and have excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Educated to Bachelors level, with a minimum 2:1.
- ACA, ACCA qualified or equivalent, with training experience in a reputable practice firm or industry environment.
- Pro-active with the ability to identify problems and implement solutions effectively.
- Ability to communicate and build effective, positive relationships across all levels.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- A flexible approach to work and good time management skills.
- A team player with an inclusive approach.
- Ability to clearly present financial information to key stakeholders.
