We are recruiting a Fund Selection Specialist, Associate on behalf of a leading independent asset and wealth management firm, head-quartered in London.

The firm is seeking a new Associate to be responsible for conducting end-to-end investment and due diligence reviews of equity long-short funds as part of their wider equities team and reporting into the Head of Equities.

The team focuses on broad geographies and targets a variety of funds. They use a range of targeted metrics and market knowledge to inform their decision-making and provide the very best solutions for their broad client base.

The successful candidate for this Fund Selection Specialist, Associate role will balance a strong technical background with excellent client-facing and communication skills, as they will be expected to pitch to and manage new client relationships.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities for this Fund Selection Specialist, Associate role include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely alongside the Head of Equities, focusing on equity and equity long-short funds.
  • Conducting end-to-end investment, and responsible investment due diligence reviews of new equity and equity long-short funds and their managers, as well as monitoring funds on the approved list.
  • Maintaining a broad knowledge of the market environment and equity investment products and contribute to internal discussions on such topics.
  • Working closely with the client team and partners and be available to support and advise them on approved funds, and attend client meetings and pitches as required.
  • Ad-hoc internal committees and projects.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Fund Selection Specialist, Associate role include but are not limited to:

  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in fund selection or a related role within investment management.
  • Experience working in equities, fixed income or long / short equity.
  • A relevant industry qualification is desirable (e.g. CFA, CISI).
  • Highly quantitative.
  • Deep knowledge of the fund management industry and investment processes.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively; adaptable to working with different personality types with dynamism and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
