Private Equity
We are working with a leading international Private Equity buyout firm headquartered in London that has significant capital under management. Following the closing of their latest fund, which was in demand and oversubscribed, they are expanding their broad fund finance team by hiring a Fund Controller to be responsible for the reviewing of fund accounts and high level strategic analysis.
Since inception over 40 years ago, the firm has focused on leveraging its expertise to build world class companies, investing in large buyouts in Europe and increasingly across the US. Funds managed typically acquire companies that require an equity investment of €200 million or more and strong track record across a multiple of commercial sectors.
Following an unprecedented fund raise at the start of 2024, they are improving their operational capacity by bolstering the fund finance team.
Reporting into the experienced Head of Fund Accounting, the Fund Controller will have an extremely broad remit across all their live funds, gaining exposure to a multiple of fund strategies and sizes to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their products.
We are seeking a high performing Fund Accountant that has experience in the accounting of large private equity funds who may be interested in moving to a fast-paced and market-leading environment in a broad and visible role within the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Review and occasional preparation of fund accounting.
- NAV calculations, ILPA templates, management fees, performance fees and cost recharges.
- Provide deal support, including financial analysis and execution of deal cashflows.
- Review capital call and distribution notices and cash allocation schedules.
- Calculation of deal and fund level IRRs and other performance statistics.
- Support the Investor Relations and Client Services teams with investor queries and any fundraising information.
- Produce models to assist with investment valuations, investor queries and other financial processes.
- Liaise with a wide range of internal stakeholders and external service providers.
Skills
- Educated to degree level with at least a 2:1 Bachelors degree.
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with no more than 5 years post-qualified experience.
- Experience working with closed-ended fund structures is essential, ideally in funds <£1bn.
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and work at pace.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- An ability to work independently using your own initiative as well as being part of a team.
