Our client is a private equity portfolio company, pursuing a highly successful buy and build / platform strategy in the leisure services/maritime sector. With a European HQ and locations spread throughout the Mediterranean, we are now seeking an experienced Head of Corporate Development to continue the acquisition strategy for the next 3 - 5 years.
Description
We are working with a highly acquisitive company in the leisure/real estate sector. Supported by significant private equity, investment, it is building a ‘best in class’ offering across the Mediterranean region with a nautical theme. We are seeking a Head of Corporate Development to spearhead their acquisitions strategy. This role will involve lots of regional travel, both to the company’s HQ, but also to visit and assess acquisition opportunities. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading all aspects of acquisition identification, outreach, meeting with business owners, structuring and negotiating deals and delivering the roll up strategy.
Skills
The ideal candidate for this role will have trained in investment banking M&A and will now work with an investor mindset, either from within a private equity firm, or within an acquisitive company’s corporate development/M&A team. Operating at Director level, you will be well versed in sourcing, negotiating, structuring and closing investments. Relevant sector experience will involve businesses with assets and a leisure aspect. Mediterranean languages, a willingness to travel frequently and an interest in maritime/leisure sectors will all be very useful attributes.
