The business portfolio includes treatment options, products and technologies that cover an estimated ninety percent of clinical needs for diagnosing, treating, and preventing various conditions.

Description

The Senior Director, EMEA Accounting & Reporting will report to the Global Controller and be a key member of the company’s leadership team with responsibility for the European accounting and compliance function, including managing a large team of c80 professional finance staff. The Senior Director will be stepping into a dynamic period of growth and transformation and will play a key role in leading the day-to-day financial accounting and compliance efforts for the central accounting team located in Prague. You will oversee the preparation of the Company’s Europe-based financial statements, including managing operational accounting and SOX compliance. In addition, you will play an important role in leading the external audit effort for all European operations. The Senior Director will need to be able to motivate, mentor, develop, and manage accounting team members and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team. You will also manage acquisition activity from due diligence to valuation/purchase accounting through to integration and assist with ad-hoc requests or special projects as necessary or assigned.

Skills

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, having trained in an international accounting firm. You will possess 15-20 years’ experience, including managing a large multinational accounting team within a centralized location, ideally in a large, complex, U.S listed manufacturing company. You will have excellent knowledge of US GAAP, statutory accounting, technical accounting, accounting policies and internal controls. It is imperative that you can demonstrate first class communication skills, primarily in English, but fluency in any other major European language would be a major advantage. You will possess strong influencing skills and be capable of engaging effectively with operational stakeholders and the senior c-suite executives across the business.
