With a portfolio of over forty educational institutions, the company is looking to continue to enhance their finance capability in one of their award-winning schools operating in South West London.
Description
We are seeking a strong finance professional to support the School Principal and Regional Finance Director in managing and developing financial procedures for the school. The Head of Finance will function as a commercial partner to the School Principal, using their financial experience and expertise to assist with business decisions and maintain the financial health of the school. Responsibilities will include the preparation of the monthly management accounts, managing all aspects of accounting, controlling the budgeting and forecasting processes, and consulting with the Divisional Finance Director to ensure financial controls are adhered to in line with the Group standards. This is a key hire within the school and wider education group, with commercial and strategic responsibility for the delivery of business objectives.
Skills
The successful candidate for this Head of Finance role will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with management and leadership experience as well as a “hands-on” mentality when required. This individual will likely have worked in a smaller, growing company and have gained broad finance skills across both the technical and commercial spheres, being comfortable moving between high level strategy and operational delivery You will need excellent communication, both verbal and written and possess a genuine business partnering mindset as a key element of the role is supporting the School Principal, therefore thinking outside the finance function is paramount. A background in education would be beneficial but is not necessarily essential.
