
Private Equity Portfolio
Our client is a specialised private equity firm with a strong track record investing globally into high-end consumer companies, with a diverse and highly recognisable portfolio. In a newly created role, this is a unique opportunity to work across all of their investment companies, creating strong and robust accounting and control processes to ensure a smooth period of ownership and eventual sale.
With a global presence and significant capital under management, the firm has established itself as a leading presence in their niche. Their portfolio spans across the globe, and includes multiple diverse and growing companies that are outperforming in their markets.
In a role that will work alongside multiple internal and external stakeholders at both the group & investment level, the Portfolio Finance Manager will provide technical expertise across deals, asset management & fund operations by effectively coordinating the statutory accounting processes of portcos, and inputting robust controls & risk management processes for their investments. This will involve carefully managing relationships with senior leaders in their network, and having strong credentials and communication skills to effectively manage processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead UK statutory reporting obligations, including:
- Preparation of statutory accounts for UK group entity and selected portfolio companies.
- Liaison with and coordination of annual audit processes.
- Development of portfolio wide accounting solutions.
- Coordination of statutory books in conjunction with various legal firms.
- Review of monthly management packs and liquidity models and assessing funding needs.
- Ad hoc analysis of portfolio company financial information.
- Development and management of an internal audit programme for the portfolio companies, as well as robust risk management and compliance controls.
- Assist with internal reporting processes, including iLevel and assisting with internal, quarterly reporting to various stakeholders.
- Establishment and management of UK portfolio holding companies (including development and maintenance of substance requirements, taxation compliance).
- Supporting the wider operations team with ad hoc special projects.
Background
- Strong academic background with minimum 2:1 Bachelors Degree.
- ACA qualified, ideally with training from a top 10 accounting firm.
- Demonstrable post-qualified experience working in either an industry accounting role, or as a senior audit professional with a diverse set of clients with varied controls requirements.
- Experience working in a diverse, multi-entity or group environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple different stakeholders in tandem.
- High attention to detail and drive to create a best-in-class controls environment.
