Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finance Systems Project Manager to lead the implementation, optimisation, and integration of finance-related systems and tools within the organisation. This role requires technical expertise, project management experience, and a deep understanding of financial processes.

The successful individual will ensure that finance systems are aligned with business needs, delivered on time, and enhanced operational efficiency.

This is a key role to start ASAP and is initially for a period of 6 – 9 months with a strong likelihood of extending.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this Finance Systems Project Manager role will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of finance system projects, including requirement gathering, planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, define scope, allocate resources, and establish timelines.
  • Oversee the successful implementation of ERP systems, financial tools, or other related software solutions.
  • Evaluate current financial systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with finance and IT teams to design and implement system enhancements or new functionalities.
  • Ensure systems meet compliance, reporting, and operational needs.
  • Act as a liaison between finance, IT, vendors, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
  • Conduct regular status updates and present progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with external vendors, consultants, and solution providers to deliver high-quality system solutions.
  • Oversee vendor performance, manage contracts, and negotiate terms when required.
  • Identify potential risks in finance system projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage change requests and ensure minimal disruption to business operations during transitions.
  • Develop training programs for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new finance systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including system requirements, workflows, and user guides.
  • Define metrics to evaluate system performance and project success.
  • Generate reports on project milestones, financial impacts, and system performance post-implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Finance Systems Project Manager role include but are not limited to:

  • Experience in implementing financial systems: – JDE, SAP Concur PO/invoice, and Treasury Management Systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial project management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in project management tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
