We have been mandated by a pan-European mid-market Private Equity firm which is looking to introduce a Treasurer to the finance team for the first time.  The firm invests broadly across Europe, with particular strength in Central and Southern European geographies, and has had multiple successive fund raises in recent years.

This is a brand new hire in what marks a significant milestone for the finance team, marking their next stage of growth, as a result of a very successful period of investing over the past few years and a sharp rise in AUM and capital on their balance sheet.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a great foundation in working in a busy, high calibre treasury team, likely in Financial Services or in a blue-chip corporate, and can bring lots of fresh ideas in setting up new processes and systems (including an overhaul of the current TMS), manage the cash, risk, FX, back-office banking processes and deployment of excess liquidity, and will be responsible for establishing and implementing strategies and appropriate policies to support these aims.

The successful appointee will have excellent project management and communication skills, given they will be a central liaison between front office and finance, and at least 5 years operating in a senior treasury capacity.

The duties and responsibilities for this Group Treasurer role include but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of the Treasury Management system.
  • Overall responsibility for the firm’s cash, managing counterparty, FX, geographical, interest rate exposures.

  • Exploring/managing opportunities for efficient deployment of excess liquidity.
  • Group financing activities.
  • Subscriptions line / fund / RCF financing.
  • FX strategy on deals.
  • Cash pooling process / overnight MMF for Group.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Group Treasurer role include but are not limited to:

  • Educated to Bachelors degree, with minimum 2:1.
  • 5-10 years experience in reputable, high-quality Treasury function, likely within Financial Services, but those within blue-chip corporates will be considered.
  • Exposure or involvement in high-level decision-making & project management.
  • Experience and knowledge of different systems & processes, and able advise accordingly based on experience.
  • Excellent communicator & gravitas – you are able to deal with and manage senior stakeholders.
  • Professional qualifications desirable but not compulsory.
