An exciting opportunity exists within an established Family Office for an experienced, dynamic interim Group Finance Director to provide financial leadership, ensuring the effective delivery of all finance activities across the Group relating to all property and operational businesses, private wealth and a charitable foundation.

The successful candidate will develop and manage relationships with external investors and banks and provide strategic support to the Founder, CEO, and Board on topics ranging from cash management to personal and corporate taxation, investment of private wealth, corporate finance/property, and property debt restructuring. Prior significant experience in a senior financial management position, ideally as a Finance Director in a Founder-led business. Starting in the next few weeks, this is initially a six month FTC with the strong likelihood of becoming permanent.

Description

The duties and responsibilities for this Interim Group Finance Director role include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively deliver all finance activities, including Financial Reporting & Business Performance Management, Corporate Finance/Property, Property Debt restructuring, Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury and Procurement.
  • Oversee, maintain and implement effective, robust cash management across all businesses and have oversight of payroll, investments, and asset management.
  • Take the lead to secure working capital and/or other adequate debt financing, including restructuring existing debt facilities to support the business and expansion.
  • Set, monitor and implement commercial terms and practices around commercial deals, investments, and equity raises.
  • Corporate financial management and governance, ensuring the maintenance and delivery of high-quality, compliant, and transparent financial control and reporting standards.
  • Ensure all statutory group accounts and reports are published according to agreed-upon timetables and in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems relating to accounting, tax, treasury, investor relations, and the annual business planning/budgeting process.
  • Formulate and be able to drive strategy; analysis of opportunities to drive profitable growth, implement strategic business plans, ensure the development of financial and tax strategies, and assess and implement financial information systems ensuring accuracy and timeliness of management reporting and accounts.
  • Analyse business forecasts and scenario analysis.
  • Lead, manage and empower the finance team to ensure the quality of service and take steps to improve relevant KPIs.
  • Monitor individual performance of direct reports, inspiring and motivating those direct reports to increase performance.
  • Drive operational best practices across finance and the wider business.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all financial regulatory requirements and meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies, such as tax submissions and statutory and regulatory financial reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date and global knowledge of financial products, tax legislation, economics, markets and risk.

Skills

The skills and experience required for this Interim Group Finance Director role include but are not limited to:

  • Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, is essential.
  • MBA is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a Finance Director who has worked in a Founder-led HNW or UHNW business across private wealth, operational companies and real estate.
  • Experience in financing and investment management is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build numerous stakeholder relationships, including those of the Founder, CEO, and Board, and confident and prepared to challenge the status quo and give feedback in a supportive manner.
  • Able to influence and establish rapport with all members of the team, providing positivity and composure.
  • Strong leadership skills.
