Our client, an impact-driven investment fund that endeavours to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy, is seeking a Fund Accountant. The successful individual will be responsible for preparing quarterly and annual investor reports and accounts, quarterly investment valuations and managing one direct report. This role is a 12-month maternity cover to start in April / May.

Description

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Lead the preparation and review of the fund bookkeeping, management accounts and investor reporting on a quarterly basis.
  • Lead the preparation and review of the annual audited fund accounts as well as the drawdown and distribution notices to investors.
  • Lead on the financial management of the funds including monitoring and reconciliation of cash movements, liaising with the corporate team to understand and agree on inter-co balances and payments, and ensuring correct documentation is in place to make such payments.
  • Manage compliance requirements through timely reporting to the external depositary and accurate recording of client asset transactions on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Provide oversight and development to the Assistant Fund Accountant to assist with the above duties.
  • Support the Fund Accounting Manager as point of contact for auditors, lawyers, tax advisers and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Fund Accounting Manager in the review of quarterly PPS/management fee calculations and maintenance of fund financial models.
  • Support the Fund Accounting Manager on ad-hoc investor queries, and ad-hoc internal queries and analysis.
  • Provide operational support to the Investment teams.

Skills

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent. 
  • Previous private equity fund accounting experience including both the preparation and review of transactions, bookkeeping, and investor reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Sage accounting software and good Excel skills.
  • An interest in sustainable and impact investing
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
